Detroit’s Hip-Hop duo Tha Brothaz

When I think of hip-hop the first thing that comes to mind is black culture; the fashion, language, and demographic of the sound from the Westcoast to the East, and even from the South, but we rarely mention the sounds coming from the city of Detroit.
The hip hop artists that are from the Motor City mainstream are familiar with Big Sean, Eminem, Royce Da 5’9, and Kash Doll, just to name a few, but I want to speak and acknowledge about two Detroit natives that have been in the hip hop scene and deserve more recognition to the world. The two artists I am speaking of real brothers Big Gov and Heavy Pape, the rap duo, “Tha Brothaz”. Not only did they come together to do collab music; these two talented men are individual artists with their own collection of music.
“It’s A World” is a new single that just dropped by Tha Brothaz earlier this month and it’s available for streaming on all major music platforms. This hot track will have you set it on repeat; when I spoke with Heavy Pape he mentioned as quoted “I just rap, producing is all Big Gov”. There will be more collaboration with this duo shortly in the near future but let’s get more insight on what projects each artist have line up.
Heavy Pape have an album titled “Heavy Tymer” produced by Big Gov and with the blazing tracks it’s giving that Detroit sound my personal favorite track is “Having Thangz” a banger and not to forget he also have his own label Never Finish Empire. To check out the album it is available for download on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify to name a few.
Big Gov who I personally call my “Little big bro” grew up in the music game, besides rap and producing; he also have his own label Black Government Music Group and clothing line Speak No Evil. The latest single “Feb. 10th is another bop that will be on his upcoming album “Son Of Southwest 2” that will release late October but be on the lookout when it drops. It’s a world is the track to take a cruise in your ride and feel the bass while mimicking the lyrics so can learn the song word for word.
